How to Reach
By Air (from Delhi): Fly from Delhi to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (approx. 1 hour), then travel about 240 km by road to Chopta, followed by a 3.5 km trek to Tungnath.
By Train (from Delhi): Take a train from Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh (5–6 hours). From there, travel about 220–230 km by road to Chopta, then trek to Tungnath.
By Road (from Delhi): Tungnath is approximately 450 km from Delhi. Drive or take a bus to Chopta via Rishikesh–Rudraprayag–Ukhimath, then complete the final trek to the temple.
Best Time to Visit
April to June & September to November – Pleasant weather, open trekking routes, and clear Himalayan views.
December to March – Heavy snowfall; temple remains closed and trekking routes are inaccessible.
